Overview
Designed and purpose-built to meet the evolving demands of the modern logistics sector, Bolt 330 is a newly developed industrial and logistics facility located on the former Shop Direct site in Little Hulton, Manchester.
The development combines environmentally responsible construction with delivery of social value. To date, it has contributed an estimated £2.2 million of local benefit through job creation, apprenticeships, and community initiatives.

Design
From the outset, the design focussed on establishing BOLT 330 as a premium logistics hub in the region. To achieve this, particular attention was given to the main entrance, which serves as both a visual anchor that enhances the site’s presence.
The design draws from contemporary architecture, with a focus on clean, modern lines and timelessness. A neutral colour palette, transitioning from dark to light tones, and subtly lightening toward the sky and horizon, reduces the visual impact of the building’s scale.
The façade features pre-formed cladding panels alongside expansive sections of powder-coated aluminium curtain walling, all presented in a restrained and elegant colour scheme. The use of full-height curtain walling framed by strong architectural elements establishes a sense of corporate presence.
When it comes to layout, this was carefully developed to respect existing boundaries while delivering highly flexible, institutional-grade space. The building is configured to meet the needs of modern office environments, supporting workplace wellbeing and functionality — ultimately helping to attract high-quality employers to the Little Hulton area.

Employee & environment
The creation of modern facilities requires solutions that support both operational efficiency and employee wellbeing. With this in mind, the development features an outdoor gym and offers generous cycle parking provisions. These cycle spaces are housed beneath a sustainably designed green roof shelter, reinforcing the project’s commitment to environmentally conscious design and active lifestyles.
From a sustainability and energy efficiency perspective, the development has achieved BREEAM Outstanding and an EPC rating of A, underscoring its exemplary performance. Key features such as rainwater harvesting and electric vehicle charging infrastructure further support a commitment to future-ready design. As a result, the scheme sets a new benchmark for sustainable industrial and logistics developments, integrating environmental responsibility at every level.
