Tata Technologies is a leading provider of engineering and design consultancy services to the automotive, aerospace & defence and industrial machinery sectors. The new HQ provided state-of-the-art facilities for the company’s automotive and industrial machinery engineering centre and designed for design, engineering and corporate functions.
The location of the TATA Technology Centre is Tachbrook Park and was developed over the last 20 years to comprise a 132 acre premier Business Park close to the town centres of Warwick and Leamington Spa which has the major advantages of close links to the M40. The site was known as Plot 1000 and has frontages to Apollo Way and Olympus Avenue and benefits from good walking links to Leamington Shopping Park to the north and east. Connections are available to the surrounding residential areas and the industrial areas of Royal Leamington Spa. The site is well located in terms of existing employment uses in the area and will have neighbours of office, industrial and commercial usage.

This new facility represents an important example of Tata’s continuing commitment to its increasing presence in the UK, and Europe.
The brief called for a workplace that promoted health and wellbeing, was flexible, well-lit and easy to re-configure for future workplace needs. Tata has carefully tailored their new workplace to suit its specific operational requirements.
The volume of the building, being a function of height and footprint area, balances the needs of an acceptable development density and institutional standards for investment value and future proofing.
A single access point has been provided into the site from Olympus Avenue for visitors and staff parking where approximately 220 parking spaces have been set within a landscaped car park. Positioned directly on this axis is the new external entrance piazza with boulevard of trees, external display areas, contemporary landscaping and seating providing a welcome buffer to the main office building and entrance. A full-service area is provided for deliveries and drop off areas.

The accommodation throughout is arranged over 4 levels integrated within its landscape. The 4 storey entrance atrium entrance foyer provides exhibition and display areas and opens up to the ground floor restaurant café which opens out onto the South facing terraced area.
Designed with two identical wings around a central knuckle the building has been designed in accordance with British Council Office guidelines and recommendations, with a 1.5m grid optimising the layout and any internal fit out.
The central cores provide vertical circulation and toilet accommodation, located as to offer full flexibility allowing the building to be let as a single occupier or providing the possibility of future sub division.
Office space is primarily open plan with a common system of workstations, supported by meeting spaces providing significant flexibility in the location of the various functions and services.
